Migration moves agreed email data from an existing service to a new one. It needs planning so staff know where to work and which messages will be available after the change.

Agree what will move
List mailboxes, message volumes, folders, and any contacts or calendars you need. Confirm which items can be migrated from the source; they are not all automatically included. Edara will need authorized access and a confirmed destination with enough capacity. Migration assistance should be scoped separately from the mailbox count.
- 2
Plan the changeover
Agree when new mail should begin arriving at the new service and how staff will sign in. DNS updates may take time to be seen everywhere. Some messages can still arrive at the previous service during the transition, so ask how remaining messages will be handled and when the old service can safely be closed.
- 3
Verify before closing the old account
For example, move one agreed mailbox first, check important folders and recent messages, then confirm the wider move. Test sending and receiving with an external address. Keep the source available until the agreed checks are complete; a successful sign-in alone does not confirm that all intended data moved.

Timing and cost
Duration depends on the amount of data, source access, and supported transfer methods. Confirm scope, fees, and any expected interruption with Edara before starting. Do not assume migration is included in every mailbox plan or that a move is guaranteed to be interruption-free.
