An API endpoint is an address used by software to request information or complete a task. Monitoring it helps detect problems in a business function that may not be visible on the homepage.

Your store opens, but orders fail
Customers may be able to browse your store while the service used to submit orders is unavailable. A check of that service can detect a problem separately from the website's homepage. This is useful for order submission, stock lookups, and supported business integrations.

Choose what to check
Agree the endpoint and the expected response with Edara. A check may assess whether it responds successfully and, where supported, whether the response meets configured rules. Use a suitable test or health address so checks do not accidentally create real orders or alter business records. Access requirements must be agreed during setup.

Plan coverage
Protect Business and Pro include API monitoring, and Pro lists support for multiple endpoints. Confirm the number of covered endpoints and the check rules in your service scope. Adding a new integration does not automatically add it to monitoring; request a review when your business processes change.

A check has a defined scope
A successful response does not prove that every payment, order, or integration works from beginning to end. Alerts require investigation, and fixing an underlying application problem is separate from monitoring. Share the endpoint, timing, and affected business process when requesting assistance.
